Cesare Puccioni, President of Puccioni S.p.A., has been granted a degree ad honorem in chemical engineering from the Politecnico of Milan. The reason of this important recognition has been his ability to keep up with the big changes in the chemical fertilizer market with great steps in research and development, going from a logic of mass productions of low cost products for the national market, to that of special products for exports.

This is what reads a note from the press office of Puccioni S.p.A., leading company in the production of fertilizers in Vasto. The degree ad honorem has been justified by Maurizio Masi, director of the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering Giulio Natta of the Politecnico of Milan. In his lectio magistralis, Puccioni has expressed his sincere thanks to the Politecnico, which in his 150 years of history has always been particularly close to the chemical industry. Politecnico and Federchimica have always worked with the intent to promote chemical culture, scientific vocations, and cooperation between public and private research. A common commitment to prove, precisely where Professor Natta discovered polypropylene, that chemical Science and chemical Industry are two faces of the same coin. Our companies - pointed out Puccioni, President of Federchimica and member of the Council of Confindustria – need young and well trained engineers with educational careers that speed up their employment in the companies. It is therefore more and more necessary to develop a synergy between university research and industrial research; this must also be our contribution to face the challenge of employment.
